New Café opening soon

After many years in the planning, the Café on the Lochan is now finally in the build phase of its conception. We are running a competition in the local newspapers for school pupils to design a sign for the café. If you are looking at our website for this reason, please have a look at our other areas of the estate, they'll help give you other ideas. If you're just curious about what we're doing on the estate, please have a browse and feel free top contact us with any queries.

Café on the Lochan

Lochan
[Gael., dim. of LOCH n.] In Scotland: a small loch or lake.

The Café on the Lochan is set in the Ayrshire countryside near the attractive village of Fenwick which is only 25 mins from Glasgow city centre or Ayr. The café is surrounded by mature trees on the banks of Craufurdland Lochan making for a peaceful and tranquil setting. The Lochan café has been constructed incorporating many environmentally friendly features and using local carbon neutral energy. Example include the high level of insulation on the construction, making heating very efficient, and the use of trees from the estate (damaged in high winds) being used to make the outer cladding of the building.

Inside the café there is room for 40 people to relax on either our leather sofas or arm chairs at coffee tables or high back chairs at tables. We have a function room for approx 12 people ideal for meetings or a social gathering. There is Wi-Fi internet access in the café so if you wanted to bring a laptop and finish some work and have a delicious cake and coffee you will be very welcome. The covered decking area which is the other side of the mainly glass front wall allowing a great vista over the lochan and the fisherman will seat another 20 plus weather permitting.

Sandwiches, Bagettes (freshly baked on site), Panini and baked potatoes with various fillings are freshly made to order and our daily soups and specials are all homemade using quality ingredients. As well as our wide selection of cold drinks (including locally produced smoothies) we use quality Illy coffee (which is fair-trade) giving you the choice of many styles of coffee prepared by Illy trained staff.
