The Bard’s Room
This beautiful sunny room is a twin/superking room, with its own ensuite bathroom. The large window gives views over the back lawn and Craufurdland Water.
A special room celebrating one of Ayrshire’s most famous sons, Robert Burns, whose first collection of poetry was published nearby in Kilmarnock. Craufurdland’s own connection to Burns comes from an original piece of his writing discovered within the Castle archives — a small but treasured glimpse into the life of Scotland’s national bard.
This unique fragment is believed to have inspired his later poem “Grizel Grim”, bringing a little piece of Burns’ story into the heart of Craufurdland Castle.
