 Castle Tour with Cream Tea

Historic Tour of The Castle – 15th Jan, 23rd Jan & 31st Jan.

Learn about the unique thread through the tartan of Scottish History held by the Houison Craufurd family.  Craufurdland’s unique tours will start at 1.30 pm and be conducted by Adity and/or Simon Houison Craufurd.  Your hosts will take you for a brief tour around the outside of the castle to explain its architecture and evolution. The tour will then take in the whole of the Towerhouse (including 6 bedrooms and the Drawing room), and in the family’s quarters (Laird’s House), include the Library, Grand Hall, Dining Room and King Charles Bedroom, complete with decorative plaster ceiling from 1648.

You are welcome to upgrade to an afternoon tea, (minimum 2 people).

Loin of Lamb

with fondant potato rolled in a herb crumb, purple broccoli and a lamb jus

Pan Roast Breast of Chicken

on a warm kale salad with crispy bacon, artichoke puree and crisps

Slow Braised Beef and Red Onion

with crumbled black pudding, horse radish mash and red wine jus


Lemon and Raspberry posset

with passion fruit cream and rose water cracker

White and Milk Chocolate Delice

with macerated strawberries, chocolate tuille and tonka bean ice cream

Strawberries and Cream Sundae For Two

vanilla cream, broken meringue, strawberries and strawberry coulis with strawberry and vanilla ice cream
